FAQ

You want to find out more about membership of dasauge.com? Here you can find answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What do I need to do to publish an entry on dasauge.com?

To submit your profile (see job sector selection in the “profile” area), you must be employed or provide services in one of the following job sectors: advertising, design, photography or multimedia. All job and studio entries must be for jobs, projects or studio shares in one of these industry sectors. In addition, you must submit a valid e-mail address so we can contact you.

What does membership cost?

Nothing.

What does publishing entries cost?

Nothing.

Nothing at all?

This is really the question we get asked the most. So we’ll give you a proper answer: membership, creating profiles and publishing entries is all completely free of charge for an unlimited time period—with no ifs and buts. It’s all free, no matter how often you wish to change, delete, renew or create new entries. There are no subscriptions, snares, hidden clauses, or unpleasant surprises. We promise. ;-)

Profile, job entry, studio entry—what’s the difference?

The big difference is what you want to use the entry for. Profiles can be created by selecting the appropriate industry sectors in the “profile” members area. Then your profile is listed with other creative service providers in the profile area of dasauge.com. There are separate areas for creating job and studio entries. These two types of entry are linked to your profile, which means you don’t have to enter basic details like name and address for every new entry you make.

How do I create entries on dasauge.com?

First you have to become a member. This is a simple, one-step procedure.

Next you should create a profile. If you’re not (yet) employed in one of the creative industry sectors listed, don’t tick any of the boxes, your profile data can then be used to create other entries, such as jobs and studio entries.

If you want to create a job or studio entry, the next step is to access the area you want (jobs or studios) and submit the details requested. Remember: you can only do this once you’ve created a profile.

And that’s all there is to it. Entries are usually posted immediately on dasauge.com. In some cases our editorial team must verify the content before posting, but that never takes more than one day.

I’ve managed to lose my login details. What can I do now?

We can send you your login details immediately - to the contact e-mail address you provided. Click here to do this, even if your old e-mail address is no longer valid.

I can’t find my entry on dasauge.com. Where is it?

If your entry isn’t listed and you haven’t heard anything from us, then the problem is most likely to be your e-mail address. When you first register, an e-mail is automatically generated and sent to the e-mail address you’ve submitted. If, for any reason, it can’t be delivered and is returned to us, all your entries are blocked, because an e-mail contact address is mandatory. You will find a warning about this in the members area. As soon as you correct your e-mail address, your entries can be posted on the site.

Job and studio entries have both a start date and an expiry date. If you can’t find your entry, you should check to see if it is not yet listed or has already expired. You can find this information in the list of your job and studio entries and you can change start and expiry dates at any time.

Some entries are verified by our editorial team before they’re posted. You can find out if this is the case in the list of your job and studio entries (e.g. the message “waiting for editorial verification”).

A final possibility might be that your account has been completely blocked. This is unlikely however, because we only do this if you seriously infringe our general terms and conditions or terms of use.

How do I change my entries?

You can change your entries in your list of job and studio entries in the members area by simply clicking on “edit”. A form will appear that lets you make changes to your entry. Then click on “save” to store them. You can make changes to your profile in the central profile area. Ticking or unticking the appropriate boxes lets you add or remove categories.

How do I delete my entries?

You can delete your entries in the list of job and studio entries in the members area by simply clicking on “edit”. A form will appear, and at the bottom you will see a “delete” button, which you can click.

Profile entries can be removed by unticking the appropriate categories in the profile area.

How do I cancel my membership?

Go to the “account” page and click on “delete”. This will delete all your searches and entries, and you will no longer be able to participate in the ad ring.

How do I receive display credits in the ad ring?

You can find your personal ad ring code at the bottom of the ad ring area. You need to incorporate this into your homepage. For every banner displayed via this code, you will receive a display credit.

Can I copy the ad ring banner myself?

No, you can’t. You can only collect display credits by using the original banner code, because otherwise we’re not able to count the number of page views.

I’ve only been given one display credit for the ad ring.

Even if you reload the site many times, you will only receive one display credit as a single user within a certain period of time. This is to prevent misuse (“reload block”).

Where will my ad ring banner appear?

Where you can see a banner now, for example: at the top of each page. Because the system rotates through the credit of each ad ring participant, it is not possible to let you know in advance when and where your banner will be displayed. You can find information about banners displayed and number of credits in the statistics section of the ad ring area.

Why do I have a “negative credit balance” in the ad ring?

dasauge.com is a portal and usually has more page hits than all the other sites participating in the ad ring put together. That is why sometimes all participants’ credits get used up displaying banners, in other words no participant has any credits left. In this case, the system anticipates future credits and banners are displayed more often than the ad ring participant has actually earned. This results in a temporary “negative credit balance”.
