I have a passion for innovation and consumer products that intuitively make sense. It is rare for great products to come from the thinking of just one person, the best products come from a team of creative people working in a diverse and collaborative environment.
My educational and professional background is in the detail oriented field of product design, designing point of sale displays and merchandisers. This is an intensely unique and diverse environment where I work concurrently with several strong internationally recognized brands.
I maintain integrity of all aspects of a project from initial concept, design refinement, prototyping and final production.
In my current position as an Industrial Designer I not only design products but am also a project manager and problem solver for many diverse accounts. I work with a team in the decision making process and manage the design holistically by communicating with customers to understand their problems and needs, understanding the psychology of the customers in the field, formulating a solution that meets their objectives, and keeping a project within budget.
Additionally, I coordinate the expertise from the outside by establishing and maintaining working relationships with vendor contacts, collecting pricing information on materials, and organizing meetings between vendors to make sure they meet specified project goals. I oversee all aspects of individual components that make a whole unit and make adjustments based on customer feed-back, then evaluate preproduction parts to finalize them for production. I coordinate with customers, vendors, and sales staff to make a concept a reality. I also mentor interns and new hires and share knowledge and techniques with the reset of the design team.
